Hi, I’m Angela Reichman, MA, MFTC.
Welcome to Blossom Counseling Services! If you are a Colorado resident looking for therapeutic support, I’m so glad you’re here.
“I can confidently diagnose your child with autism,” the doctor kindly, and bluntly, announced to me after a very thorough two hour assessment. After being told a long list of services he felt my child needed, I rocked my fussy newborn baby in one arm while walking my officially diagnosed child out to the car, and noticed a beautiful rainbow in the distance. The rainbow felt like a little gift just for me, a moment for my overwhelmed brain to pause and collect itself. Then, I buckled my kids in, sat in the drivers seat, and opened my phone. The first thing I saw was the following headline: “The WHO announces COVID-19 is officially a pandemic.” …Whew. The world was in for a big change, and so was our family. My child had not changed, but the way we would approach raising our kids was in for a major renovation. Little did I know that we were just at the beginning of our family’s diagnostic journey, which included me being diagnosed with ADHD in my 30’s, explaining a lifetime of struggles and “quirks”.
After staying at home with my kids for many years, I decided to follow my interest in mental health. I completed a Master’s program in marriage and family therapy, a complete pivot from my bachelor’s degree in art education. During this time, I could see the gap in mental health providers that felt equipped to help families with special needs, and I became passionate about filling this gap for families like mine. I became involved in the special needs community in my local area, and I witnessed how one person’s disability could impact a whole family, how that family’s culture could impact how the family viewed the disability, and how resilient and innovative these families were under great stress and often unfair circumstances. During my internship I also learned of the incredible transformative power of couple’s work, and I love to help couples become closer, strengthen their relationship, and resolve (or accept!) differences.
As a neurodivergent mother, I am familiar with many of the stresses relating to family dynamics impacted by disability, both clinically and personally. I am known for establishing rapport quickly, using humor, and honoring client values. I am passionate about providing affirming care and finding ways to make sure the whole family’s needs are being met. (Middle children, I see you! *wink) In my spare time, I love to paint, walk my dog Popcorn (a sweet pyrenees mix who you might see napping in the background of our virtual sessions), bake, read, watch TV and movies, take up (*cough and abandon) new hobbies, and play board games with my family.
I currently offer therapy services for individuals, couples, and families.
It is my goal to help every client that I treat to blossom, hence the name Blossom Counseling Services. If you would like to work together, please fill out the form on the contact page or text 720-915-8504. For questions about rates, go to the FAQ page.
I am currently only offering virtual sessions at this time, with plans to offer in-person sessions in 2026 in the Boulder area.
